Tech Jobs Need Moms

Moms don't want jobs; they want businesses, and with our skills in organization, family management, and conflict resolution, we make the perfect software contractors for new business owners who simply want to build their company without the technical mumbo jumbo.

Maybe you're a customer service representative stuck in an office for 8 hours a day rushing through traffic to make it to the daycare in time. Or maybe you're at home washing clothes and preparing lunches wishing you were elsewhere. I've been there, mama, and I think a tech Job might help you out.

It's not easy, but the benefits of running a digital agency are worth every course and every dollar I've made (and spent!) as a web designer and lead specialist.

Here are the Top 4 Reasons why you should start a career in Technology

You Already Have The Skills, Ma'am!

I know a lot of women in call centers and offices working as Help Desk Technicians and IT Support Specialists who can maneuver through any dashboard they have access to. Construction workers, plumbers, and HVAC could use their help.

These Jobs Pay More Than Customer Service Roles

In the workforce, my highest hourly pay was $14.25 as a customer service representative. I only had enough to pay my car note and make it back home every day. Now those positions are filled by AI Technology and automated chatbots.

Entry-level positions like website designers and lead generators pay between $25-$40 an hour (plus commissions) and are becoming a key role for businesses to grow. The demand for specialized skills such as software development, data science, and cybersecurity can lead to higher compensation packages with larger companies.

Tech Jobs Aint Going Nowhere

It may be easy to let go of certain job positions, but It's hard to replace a high-quality tech professional. There's generally more job security for us in technology-related roles than in any other profession.

The key to unlocking Job Security in the tech world is education and skill development. The tech industry is dynamic and ever-evolving. This provides opportunities for continuous learning and professional development.

Tech professionals often engage in ongoing training to stay current with the latest technologies and trends. Many companies pay for their contractor's education and training programs because they know their contractor's skills will inevitably enhance their companies.

Mamas Need Flexibility

Many tech jobs allow for remote work. This flexibility works best for moms with full schedules (especially Toddler moms!). All of my work is centered around my self-care routine and my toddler's schedule (not the other way around).

The nature of technology allows for collaboration and employment opportunities on a global scale, meaning Mama gets to travel the world! Software contractors can work from anywhere, which means opportunities to work with international teams or take on roles in different countries.

Conclusion

I'm telling you that the investment in education and skill development pays off nicely. Moms don't just want jobs—they aspire to build businesses and carve out their space in the tech world. The benefits derived from embracing a technology career make every course taken and dollar spent on education a worthwhile investment. So, to all the moms contemplating a career change, join the tech industry, offering not just a job but a fulfilling and lucrative journey into entrepreneurship and innovation.
